Plastic teeth, with metal zippers, and plastic coated zipper handles. It's lightweight, quiet, but very heavy duty zipper system.

A:
Yes, machine washable. However you are supposed to let it drip-dry, not machine dry. Which only takes over-night, barely. Depends on how warm the room is that you dry it.

A:
The biggest difference is the shell fabric. The H3 Series has a shell fabric called Tricot (brushed polyester knit), which can make some noise when brushed up against rough things such a tree bark. The H3.1 Series has Sueded Polyester shell, which doesn't make noise like Tricot. The new Sueded Polyester shell as has an added water repellent treatment to help shed water. Both shell types do have a waterproof laminate.

): The H7 Series includes X-System odor/scent elimination technology. The H7 Jacket is a 3-n-1 with a removable inner fleece jacket. The H3.1 Jacket does not have an inner jacket and is a bit longer in length. The H3.1 Bib has a high rise, meaning it comes up high on the chest and back. The H7 Bib has a low rise, meaning it comes up to just under the rib cage, but still covers the kidneys in the back.

The H3.1 Series is good for gun hunters. The H7 Series is good for hunters that use both gun and bow.

A:
I was able to compare these two jackets in store. I think the H3.1 is the new and improved version of the H3, as there was only one H3 left and it was on clearance. They are little different in styling, but most importantly, the H3.1 seems to be thinner and not as bulky. Also the H3.1 is slightly more sued-like and soft on the outside.

My husband and I saw this jacket in store. I did not want to purchase it, because it just seemed too thin, to be warm, however, the description does say its is unbelievably thin and warm. Should I trust sending my husband out in 0-15 degree weather, with this?

I am down in Indiana and I know that it terribly colder up there and it dropped below 35 the other day and I felt fine. Of course proper layering is essintial for this product to work properly.

A:
Everyone handles excessive heat and cold differently. On average, the H3.1 Series is more than suitable for Wisconsin weather for most people. The thinness of ArcticShield garments is due to the lack of loft type insulation. These garments use a material called RE-tain that traps and reflects body heat. One thing to keep in mind: It's wise not to walk long distances while wear ArcticShield garments; sweating will likely occur, increasing the chance to get cold. If walking a long distance, it's usually best to carry the garments and put them on once the final destination is reached. A good polyester fleece or wool base layer will help prevent getting cold from next-to-skin moisture.
