I believe a palomar knot is what Berkley recommends. I use the 20lb test with 6lb fireline for leader on a carolina rig. I haven't had a single slip or break using a palomar.Q:

I use this when Im fishing rocky dams. Always getting jigs hung up on rocks. I tie everything with an albright knot. Prolly a 12:1 ratio hangups to breaking off. I think its great around rocks. I use the 20 lb test.

I used it in nc for red drum,gator gar, black tip reef shark and hammer heads holds up very well. I have straitened out circle hooks before the line even came close to breaking.Details:

I was wondering if this line had a lot of line memory. I use Berkley Triline a lot and it has no line memory what so ever so i was wondering if Berkely Fireline Braid was the same.Answers

well, like any braid, it will have some memory, however, this fireline isnt bad at all for it memory, the roundness and smoothness of it, seems to keep it from having a remendous amount of memory, it will have a little more than mono, but it seems to have less than a lot of other braids.Details:
After trying several braids I now only use sufix. Has anyone else used sufix and this fireline BRAID? If so, how do you rate the two lines? I do not like the fused fireline, however am thinking of trying the braid. ThanksAnswers

suffix suffix suffix. i cant stress enough how bad this line is. i have used both lines. unfortunatly i bought 20 lb test fireline this year and put it on 4 of my rods. i've never been so disapointed in anything i ever bought i will never buy ANYTHING berkley again. i have snapped my line at least 30 times this year and a few times i didnt have a fish on just had a topwater strike on a frog, the bass missed, still snapped my line with the frog just floating there. i spent $100 on two spool of line and have now lost over $100 dollars worth of lures and who knows how many lbs. of largemouth. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE PULLED FROM THE SHELFS AND DISCONTINUED. by the way last year i used suffix braid and didnt snap it once,left it on one of my rods this year and still no break offs.

honestly, i prefer this over sufix, this is smooth, casts well, less wind knots, its just a nice all around line, i personlly prefer it to sufix. hope this helpsDetails:

no ,do not buy berkley fireline, it is junk, i bought 20 lb test and have snapped my line 30 times or more and havent caught anything over 6 lbs. buy suffix braid 15 lb test is plentyA:
The braid should be fine on the mojo rod.As for going past the line rating on your rod: you can, but this will most likely void your warranty.

yes you can use braid line on any rod. just make sure you take care of the eyes on the rods. also you can jump up a notch or to on line class for you rod.Details:
is 30 pnd braid equal to 30 pnd mono or flurocarbon because i hear alot of talk saying well i can only put 12 pnd mono on it and people say well put some 20 or 30 pnd braid on it. is there a difference in the diameter of the braid or is braid measured different. is there a difference. any answers will be valued. thanks.Answers

Braid has a higher strength to diameter ratio. Not all braid is the same but generally 30lb braid is equivelant in diameter to 8lb mono, 50lb braid is equivalent diameter to 12ln mono and so on.A:
30lb braid only has an 8lb diameter. more line for ur reel. 30lb braid is strongerA:
All line diameter is measured in inches (in the U.S.) and inches don't change. ever.The average 20lb braid will have the same diameter as the avg. 6lb mono. 30lb braid and 8lb mono. 40lb braid and 10lb mono. 50lb braid, 12lb mono.
Most people will tell you that is you're rod is rated for 10lb test, match the diameter (so 40). But if your rod has a warranty, using a line heavier than the rating on the rod will most likely void your warranty.
Also, I think for bass 40, 50, 65lb braid is WAY overkill. I use 10-15lb braid on spinning reels and 30 on my baitcaster. Rarely will I have 40lb braid spooled up.
