Steve,

The reel is easy to convert L/R, R/L. Remove the four screws on the black escapement cover (on the inside of the spool), pull off the cover, lift out the escapement, flip it over and then replace the cover and screws. Wind your backing in the correct direction onto the spool and you're done! If you have the instruction booklet its covered there and you can also go to Ross's website for the instructions as well.
