Fish, Why u say Rcbs is better for new handloaders? What are some of the must haves a newby needs beside what comes in this kit? I saw some neat xtras on tv show such as primer bore, case trimmer and a few others are all these needed? can one powder work in 270WSM, 270, 30 30 or do I need different powders?

My husband wants a reloading kit for Christmas. Will this lock n load take care of all his different kinds of shells?

No you will have to buy shell plates for his calibers. Some plates may fit multiple calibers- some maybe specific to one caliber. Go to hornady's website with a list of your cartridge type and cross refernce it on their shell plate/shell holder fit chart. Something he will need later is a scale for reloading, trimmer with a chamfer/deburrer tool and calipers accurate to .0005 at least. As this was posted a while ago I hope this helps you or anyone else looking.

The Hornady classic kit is a great kit that will last a lifetime. If you want to go faster then get their Hornady L-N-L AP press set.Then a reloading manual, dies for your calibers.
The manual will tell you what powders, primers and bullets works best.
