A:
In all reality, a small tube such as the Northland Slurpies can be used on a very wide variety of fish. Generally, this size of tube is used for panfish such as crappie, bluegill, perch, and the like. However, sometimes these can be a great way to catch bass in and around cover, especially in sluggish periods where they are not feeding on larger fish. Try vertically jigging, or suspending these beneath a bobber in and around cover. You will be suprised at the variety of fish that you can catch on these and other panfish tubes. Also, if you do happen to use a slip-in jig head, try dabbing a little bit of shad scent on the lure to help attract fish.

A:
I don't know about the "best", but I use a 1/64th oz. tube jig head - the ones with red hooks. Depending on the fishes' mood, I'll either tip the whole rig with a minnow or not. Sometimes the minnow is too much and other times it's just what they're looking for.

Hope this helps.

depth is key try to use light jig heads (1/32 oz) that is what i like cuz they ussally hit on the fall so the longer it falls the better. lightly jig near sturucture (fallen trees, docks) and you can size up to get better distance casting but no larger than a 1/8 oz. larger jig head often = larger fish though so you decide
