A perfect counterpart for the world's finest fly rods, the 270º fly reel is both stylish and coldly efficient. Its true large arbor design eliminates tight coils and picks up line fast when a fish charges toward you. Another benefit is that "actual" drag does not increase measurably as a fish removes line from the taller spool. We’ve removed as much non-essential material as possible from the bar-stock aluminum frame and spool to reduce the reel's overall weight, while a one-way bearing ensures instant engagement of the 270's smooth, stacked dual-bearing drag. (Prototypes easily handled 5-6 pound rainbows on 7X tippet). Now the clever part: The series is designed around two frame sizes, where each accommodates two different capacity spools, so you can now custom tailor your system easier than ever before. Hint: The "6/7" reel does a 5 weight double taper line (90 ft.) and 100 yards of 20 lb. Dacron perfectly.
