Many Simms products now feature CleanStream™ technology design or elements of it, like the new Vibram Streamtread™ rubber sole jointly developed by Simms and Vibram to replace felt-soled boots. This new design philosophy uses materials and production techniques that make it more difficult for dangerous microorganisms to attach to wading gear and makes the gear easier to properly clean. Simms is also working with other fishing industry companies and conservation organizations to develop a certification process to highlight gear designed to help prevent the spread of aquatic nuisance species (ANS) and disease and keep the world's waterways safe and healthy.

Built around a narrower last than other Simms wading boots, the Headwaters boot for Ladies is lighter than other wader boots without sacrificing any support. This boot also features Simms CleanStream™ design and special Vibram sole, options that help fight the spread of aquatic nuisance species and disease on boots from waterway to waterway. The synthetic leather upper features treated Schoeller® dynatec mesh panels to give you a boot that is lightweight and easy to clean. A fully gusseted neoprene tongue keeps debris out. Count on comfort and support for as long as you fish, thanks to a EVA wedge midsole. Molded rubber toe and heel wraps provide abrasion resistance while the sturdy molded toe box prevents collapse.
