The Johnny Morris® Gold Series is the result of taking everything known about a high-performance, high-quality baitcaster and refining it to bring you a high-performance reel that’s extremely lightweight. We started inside and redesigned the spool, drive gears, and crank shaft to be as light as possible, crafting them from hard anodized super-light-aircraft-grade Duralumin. The 11-bearing system puts you right on the cutting edge of fishing technology with two German stainless steel double shielded ball bearings, eight stainless steel double shielded ball bearings, and a Powerlock™ instant anti-reverse bearing. And then there’s the finish. The extremely durable gold titanium deposition finish will protect it from chips, scratches, and even fading for years to come! Other weight-saving features include our lighter Recurve Handle and Star Drag System with ribbed grips for better contact when wet. We’ve also included a spare set of high-density EVA foam grips and an extra spool (deep design with a line capacity of 160 yards/12 lb.) for total versatility. Performance features include our Dual Braking System™, six disc carbon fiber/stainless steel drag system that provides 14 lbs. of unstoppable drag pressure, and aluminum frame and sideplates that keep internal components perfectly aligned for maximum performance.
