Additional Ways to Shop: Ascend
Bass Pro Shops-Macon is the centerpiece of the rapidly expanding North Macon area, providing a recognizable anchor point for new shopping, residential and office developments.
The popular destination is a 600,000 square foot structure with not one, but two components. The first is the Sportsman’s Warehouse retail facility, featuring over 200,000 square feet of hunting, fishing, camping, apparel, gifts, footwear, and marine merchandise. Hunting and fishing licenses are available, seven days a week, at our Customer Service desk. You can also find the Tracker Marine Boat Center and Tracker Marine Service Center on either side of the store’s entrance.
The additional square footage is occupied by a state-of-the-art distribution center. This is the company’s only distribution center outside of the headquarters building in Springfield MO. The distribution center ships merchandise to 26 stores across the southeast and eastern seaboard.
The highlight of the retail store is our 8,000-gallon aquarium. The freshwater tank is stocked with native fish, some of which have been donated by our customers and associates. Fish feedings are a popular activity and take place each Monday and Thursday at 11:00 a.m.
The entire store is filled with small details and artistic representations of hunting and fishing opportunities in the south. The water feature at the main entrance is a water wheel evoking memories of an old grain mill. The grand lobby has a replica of a duck decoy carving workshop and a replica of the Buck Ashe buck, a state record in Georgia. A variety of deer mounts, from the King of Bucks series, hangs in our hunting department with some of the biggest racks you will find. We even have a pontoon plane hanging overhead! These are just a few of the many ever-changing features you will find at Bass Pro Shops-Macon.

The Methodist Home for Children and Youth is more than a home for children, it is also a home for a host of children and family programs and services. The main campus is located in Macon and was established in 1872 by the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. Over 10,000 children have been served in the 139 years of ministering to the needs of children, youth, and their families.
The Central Georgia Council is one of the largest councils in Georgia geographically, serving 24 counties of middle Georgia. Over 5,600 youth are served each year in programs from first grade through high school. About 1,800 adult volunteers serve Scouting under the guidance of a volunteer board of directors and a relatively small professional staff of six.
