What is the Family Summer Camp all about?
This event was so popular for us the past four years that we are repeating it this year. Most of us remember going to summer camps as children. We were outside learning archery, and how to fish, swim, make campfires, and other things. On rainy days we stayed indoors and did crafts like leather working, making birdhouses, plaster crafts and more. We learned about the outdoors and we have good memories of those days. The Family Summer Camp is the same idea. We are offering adults and kids the chance to go to Summer Camp here at Bass Pro Shops, learn some outdoor skills they can enjoy for years to come and, best of all, it is all free!
Why should people come to this event?
Summer is coming up quickly and parents naturally start thinking about what to do with the kids. The Bass Pro Shops Family Summer Camp offers a free alternative and provides activities and workshops that allow families to do things together and develop skills they can use for a lifetime of memories together.
Why is the idea of a Summer Camp a good idea?
These challenging economic times are stressful on individuals and families. It is important to find summer programs that are not overly expensive and then worth the money. Our event is free, plus parents can learn right along with the kids. Together they will learn and develop outdoors skills they can use over and over again—for the back yard, over a long weekend or on future vacations. And, we all know the great benefits of being outdoors—as studies show that just getting outside and away from all the distractions vastly improve our general health and mental well being.
All kids under 18 must be accompanied by their legal adult guardian at all times during the camp.
