Fall Bass

Tips for fast-action fall fishing!
Edwin Evers

Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass are all creatures of habit and instinct. In other words, no matter where you live, a bass is a bass, and all are equally affected by habit and instinct.

Bass move shallow in the fall and feed heavily before the winter months arrive. Now is the time to make as many casts as possible to likely targets looking for feeding fish.

Spinnerbaits and crankbaits will be your best choices because they imitate the shad and crayfish on which the fish are feeding. Try to match the size and color of what they are feeding; try to match the speed and action the bait moves at too.
