Bass Tricks

Tips for taking more bass!
Penny Berryman

If you're fishing clear water and notice that bass keep following your lure but won't take it, there could be several reasons why. The color of your lure might contrast too much with the surroundings, it could be too large or too small, etc. Try doing totally opposite of what you were doing, or try something completely off the wall. That just might get them to strike.

When you are fishing underwater structures such as points or humps, keep a fishing buoy handy. If you catch a fish, throw out a buoy. When you're through fishing, go back through the area with a sonar unit to determine what's holding the fish. If you have a GPS, enter the spot as a waypoint. If not, take note of unique shoreline markers so you can find the place again.
