Finding Big Bucks
Bob Foulkrod
Find those secret whitetail pockets and you too can find big bucks.
Bob Foulkrod

Is there any area of the country that offers hunters after that big, record-book buck a better chance than others?

There are some areas that stand out like the Great Lakes region of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kansas, northern Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. Texas bucks aren't as big bodied but there are plenty of record racks. For big bucks and big racks it's also hard to beat Alberta and Saskatchewan.

But, just because you don't happen to live close to any of these areas doesn't mean you can't or won't take a big buck. If you check the record books, you'll find that the highest ranking heads in history came from all over the country. Within each state are certain areas that offer the best opportunity. Find those whitetail pockets and you could find big bucks.

Bob Foulkrod is co-host of Outdoor World Television on The Outdoor Channel.
