Hunters and fisherman have a language that's all of their own. The gear they carry afield and the explanations of their ways are foreign words to others. If you've ever overheard a conversation amongst them and couldn't quite catch up to what they're saying Bass Pro Shops can help. We've collected a dictionary of outdoor-specific terms to help everyone learn a little more about the outdoors.
   Today's Terms (2 terms)

Patched ball (Hunting)
A round lead ball that is seated on a lubricated patch of cloth and then rammed down the barrel of a muzzleloader.

Indicator species (Fishing)
A species of plants or animals that suffers when pollution or environmental stress begins, thus indicating environmental degradation.
