Line Up for Success

In comparison to rods and reels, the line component of our fly outfits generally gets far less attention than it should. Most fly anglers fish for years before the importance of spare spools and additional lines occurs to them.

Although not as fun to shop for as rods or reels, your fly line is often the most critical element in delivering your fly to the fish effectively. The line determines your ability to control key presentation factors like distance, depth, visibility, stealth and finesse to name a few.

Today’s fly angler is blessed with a wide range of fly line products to select from. Taking some time to examine what’s out there is certain to yield a perfect fit for almost any angling situation, whether you need a clear line for spooky fish, or a 10 foot mini-head to get your streamer down a bit deeper.
