Bass Pro Shops Lazer Eye Pro Series Spinnerbaits
written by Clint Craft

My favorite spinnerbaits because the Perfect Skirt with Magic Tail eliminates the need for a soft-plastic trailer, and when I impart action with the rod tip, the Perfect Skirt flairs out, which is often when the strike occurs.

I like fishing spinnerbaits for two reasons: you can fish 'em fast to cover water quickly, and they almost never get hung up. Plus, there's something about the flash and sound of those pulsating blades that just rings the dinner bell for big bass.

Bass Pro Shops' Lazer Eye Pro Series Spinnerbaits are my personal favorite, mostly because of the Perfect Skirt with Magic Tail. The extended tail section eliminates the need for a soft-plastic trailer, and when I briefly halt my retrieve or impart action with the rod tip, the Perfect Skirt flairs out, which is often when the strike occurs. Fishing extremely clear water and don't want the added skirt length?  A quick snip with your scissors and you've got a traditional skirt.

A sleek head design, including "lazer" eyes and detailed paint scheme, add realism to the bait. While I don't typically fish spinnerbaits slow enough for fish to closely examine the head, this extra attention to detail gives me added confidence in the bait's ability to produce.

I especially like that these baits run true right out of the package, even on a super-fast retrieve. Sometimes spinnerbaits torque sideways when burned just below the water's surface. This doesn't seem to be an issue with the Lazer Eye Pro Series Spinnerbaits. When you do need to bend the stainless steel wire for tuning, it never takes much work to get the bait running true.

The head is molded on a sharp Mustad hook -- no need to break out the hook file until you've put some miles on this spinnerbait!

Many anglers will probably like how easy it is to swap the front blade thanks to the quick-change clevis, and I can see how changing the style or size of the blade "on the fly" would come in handy. Honesty, though, I don't use this feature as much as I should. Of course, that's probably because the price is inexpensive enough that I can stock an entire spinnerbait box with an assortment of weights, blade configurations and colors to match all conditions.
