Springfield Kingpin Adjustable Seat Post

I'm a stand-up angler for the most part. I just feel more aware and ready for the strike when I'm on my feet. However, standing for the entire length of a 9 hour tournament is tough, and it's often a relief to lean, removing some pressure from the legs and feet. A seat to lean against also seems to make running the trolling motor easier while I'm chunking and winding along the bank.

For those who prefer to lean rather than sit, the Springfield Kingpin Adjustable Pedestal Post is a great choice. This post has an adjustable height range of 22 to 31 inches. Within that range, the pedestal locks at 1-3/4-inch increments. I'm 5-foot 7-inches short, and with the pedestal adjusted to the second to lowest setting, this allows me to lean against my seat while keeping my knees slightly bent.

This post features a quick, easy, manual height adjustment. To raise the post, simply pull up on the seat until you've reached your desired height. To lower, depress the black lever on the side of the post, and then push down on the seat. Once the height is set, the post remains securely in place until you decide to adjust it.

As the name suggests, this is a 3/4" Kingpin-style post. It's available in standard and threaded versions; whichever style you choose, make sure you have a deck base to match. You'll also need to make sure you've got Kingpin seat mounts attached to the base of your boat seat; I attached the Springfield Kingpin 360 Seat Mount to my pro-style boat seat, and this combination worked great.

The Springfield Kingpin Adjustable Pedestal Post is a quality manual adjustment seat post. It's sturdy, easy to use, and has a height range that should accommodate most anglers. If you're upgrading your boat's seating and think a stand-up style post is right for you, give the Springfield Kingpin Adjustable Pedestal Post a shot. It's a quality post for the stand-up angler, and at a great price to boot.
