Bronzeback Time
Larry Whiteley
Fall is a magical time of year for river smallmouth fishing.
Larry Whiteley

If you're like me, you love the fall time of year with colorful leaves and cooler temperatures. It's also a great time to hit the rivers for smallmouth. When a bronzeback jumps in the air, twists, does a cartwheel, and hits the water only to do it again a second later, it's sure to get your heart pounding.

Fall is a rush of foraging activity that brings big fish out of hiding in the middle of the day as they feed heavily in preparation for the upcoming winter. From modest creeks to major navigational waterways, bronzebacks will attack almost anything you throw at them. It's a magical time of year; whatever you do, don't miss the show.

Larry Whiteley is the host of the award winning Outdoor World Radio
