Pattern Fishing
Rick Clunn
Pattern fishing works on all fish and several patterns can exist at once.
Rick Clunn

No matter what type of fish you are fishing for, try to establish patterns. When you catch a good size fish, ask yourself -- What kind of structure or cover did it come from? Depth? Wind direction? Then try to duplicate the conditions at other places on the lake or on other waters.

You caught several nice ones off a corner or inside turn with wind blowing into a weedline at 8 feet. Look for similar conditions and bypass any other areas for an hour or two.

Pattern fishing works on all fish and several patterns can exist at once. They can also change very quickly so if you find one that is producing, fish it hard and fish it fast.

Rick Clunn is the only 4-time Bassmaster Classic Champion.
