The good folks in the Bass Pro Shops Fly Fishing department have outdone themselves again.  Last year they released the CV2 series of fly rods.  At the very least those were superb.  Outdoing the great design of the CV2 series would seem impossible.  But, to my amazement, White River Fly Shops has done just that.  New and improved over the CV2 is a rod that makes any fly fisherman drool with delight.  It's called the Two-Seventy and the price is right and its quality is unsurpassed.

Two-Seven-Zero -- that is the compass heading for West and it's where the rod's catchy moniker comes from.  This rod series was conceived to meet the extreme requirements of fly-fishing's most famous destinations in places from the Rockies to Alaska.

They started with state-of-the art 85 million modulus graphite and laid it up with a new process for structural enhancement.  That simply means they used good materials and new technology to create a rod that surpasses the expectations of even the most finicky fly fisher.

The Two-Seventy comes in four models to cover everything you need.  Each rod is a three-piece design and packs down neatly in a redesigned rod case.  The new case features a triangular design instead of the common round one.  The result is a much stronger design for more protection of your valuable rod.

The rods are amazing.  The sensation when casting and mending is indescribable.  Your line and fly seem to arrive in the right place with a mere thought.  No phony technology is involved in the Two-Seventy's design; instead it's the perfect example of what happens when science meets experience.
