Saturday, June 8th at Lake Jacomo Marina (7401 West Park Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015)

Time:  8am - 12pm, please plan on making a day out of it and stay for National Marina Days!

• Preregistration opens NOW.  We are limited to the first 100 kids to sign up.  Preregistration will end at 4pm on Monday, June 3rd, 2013 or once we reach our 100 child limit.  Please see the end of this announcement for information on who to contact to do this.
• Check-In will begin at 8am on the day of the event.
• Fishing will be from 9am - 10:30am
• Weigh-In will occur at 10:30am
• Prize ceremony and raffle to follow shortly after our weigh in.

What to Bring: 

• 1 pole per child
• 1 bucket per child to hold their catch
• Life Jacket

What we will provide:

• 10 meal worms will be provided to each participant.  If you need additional bait, you can purchase inside the marina or bring from home if needed.
• Each child will get a goodie bag at the end of the event.
• Each child will be entered in for our kids raffle.  Parents that bring their children to the event will get entered into winning prizes from the adult raffle.
• Each child will get a participation ribbon.

Camping Critters - Camping is Fun!

Thursday, May 23 in the Conservation Room at 10:30am

Open to toddler's aged 2 - 5 years.

Come in and have some fun with our new Toddler Program - Camping Critters!  This month, we will talk about how much fun camping can be.  Some of our topics include things we need to take with us camping, learning to pack a backpack with the proper gear, and setting up an indoor campsite! We have some drinks and snacks (smores if weather permits) as well and will finish up the morning by reading a campfire story.  This program normally lasts about an hour to hour and a half long.

As summer kicks off, so does our Dutch Oven Cooking classes!  Join us on Saturday, May 25th at 2pm in our camping department as we explore the options of campfire cooking and using a dutch oven!  DeAnna will be here to showcase some fantastic recipes.  Did I mention taste testing is required to join in this free seminar?

Come join us as we take the Kayaks out on the lake for our Kayaking 101 class.  This class will focus on tips and tricks for the beginner.  You will need a PFD (life jacket) or let us know if you do not have one.  It is suggested you please leave any personal belongings you would not want to get wet at home.  Sign - up is limited to the first 10 people to contact  us at 816-795-4304.

This class is for adults over the age of 18.  You will be required to fill out a waiver upon arrival.  If you have kayaking equipment, you are more than welcome to bring it with you.
