Fly Tying

Wednesdays 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

This class is held in our White River Fly Shop. The focus of the session will be to introduce the student to the tools and vice used in tying flies. Common patterns will be demonstrated by the instructor with more detailed instruction depending on the progress of the class. Materials and tools are provided and prior experience is not necessary. There is no charge for this lesson. Registration can be made by contacting the store and asking for the Fly Shop associate on duty. (636-668-2500), or by signing up in person at the store.

These classes meet at Boone’s Lick Park, one block north of Bass Pro Shops. Classes are designed for the beginning and intermediate fly casters with emphasis on overhead casts and forming tight loops. Additional instruction will include different types of fly fishing strategies, equipment, tackle, and stream etiquette. Equipment can be made available, but practicing with your own outfit is recommended. There is no charge for this lesson. Registration can be made by contacting the store and asking for the Fly Shop associate on duty. (636-668-2500), or by signing up in person at the store.
