Texas hunter Education subjects include: Modern and Primitive Firearms, Safety, Ethics and Responsible Hunting, Conservation and Wildlife Management, Wildlife Identification, Texas Hunting Regulations, Survival and Outdoor Skills. This course is designed for novice or young hunters. All materials are provided and subjects are covered in depth to enable the student to successfully complete the Hunter Education certification process. The Structured Hunter Education Course is a minimum of 10 hours over at least 2 days. The average course length is 14 hours.

Free Fly Casting Lessons
On Saturday mornings from 9 – 10:30 am sharp unless raining we offer free casting clinics, for anyone who might need some help with their form, add a few more feet to their maximum distance, or improve their accuracy; regardless of whether they’ve been doing it a while or just getting started. Equipment is provided if necessary, but if you have a rod, it’s best to learn and practice with what you’ll be using on the water. For those of you “thinking” of taking the plunge, gives us a few minutes to go over the basics, and then give it a try. The decision to purchase an outfit will be an easy one once you’ve experienced the thrill of laying out a line. Claude Boivin is a Certified Fly Casting Instructor from the Federation of Fly Fishers and has also been fly fishing for over 34 years. Come and learn from this experienced fly fisherman and begin to enjoy this relaxing and pleasurable sport.
