Community Conservation Seminar Series - The Monarch Challenge

The Community Conservation Seminar Series

Bass Pro Shops Altoona is starting series of seminars featuring many of our Iowa partners in conservation. We’ll be inviting various conservation and wildlife organizations to speak about topics focused on conservation, wildlife, and habitat.

The Monarch Challenge - Plant Grow Fly with Us!
with Jessie Lowry, Blank Park Zoo
Wednesday, April 8
10:30 AM

Most everyone appreciates the beauty of a Monarch, Swallowtail or other butterflies. However, our butterfly and bee population has decreased drastically due to several reasons, including loss of habitat and food resources. Iowa is an integral part of the Monarch migration and all pollinators need specific types of plants that help them feed and reproduce.

Jessie Lowry is a wildlife conservationist and leader of the Blank Park Zoo's pollinator conservation initiative: Plant.Grow.Fly., a project aimed at increasing habitat for butterflies and bees. Learn about pollinator issues, why they are a concern to all of us, and how you can make a difference simply in your back yard!
No reservations required. Simply join us!
