HUNTER EDUCATION
This class is for Hunter Safety using the Colorado Parks & Wildlife Curriculum. Each Hunter Education class consists of two sessions which total 12 hours as mandated by Colorado state law.
Everyone born on or after January 1, 1949 who applies for a Colorado hunting license or preference point must have successfully completed an approved hunter education course. If you do not have your hunter safety card you need this class. The Colorado Division of Parks & Wildlife recommends that a student be a minimum of ten years of age to take this course. This class will inform people about firearms safety, hunting laws, survival and first aid, provide instruction on rifle, shotgun, pistol and archery safety.
The course is divided into two parts, of which the student is required to attend both sessions. The first meeting is held at Bass Pro Shops in The Frying Pan Lodge, 7970 Northfield Boulevard Denver, CO. The 2nd session will be held at the Colorado Parks & Wildlife Hunter Education Building located at 6060 Broadway Denver, CO

FAMILY & YOUTH ORIENTED AGES 10 & UP
Do you want to get your pup off to a good start or get your older dog ready for the upcoming hunting season? Then you will want to register for our upcoming bird dog training series. This seven (7) session program is designed to make you a better trainer so you can train your dog to be a reliable hunting companion. There will be six (6) sessions at the store and
one field session.
The program is open to a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 dogs divided equally among pointers and retriever/flushers. First come, first served. The course will be conducted by

1-DAY FAMILY FISHING CLASS AT BASS PRO SHOPS
Family fishing camps are a great outdoor bonding experience for the entire family. This fun and interactive class is designed to educate parents on fundamental fishing basics to share with their kids while youngsters learn the basics through fun, kid friendly activities. In this class, participants learn how to use basic spin casting equipment to fish with bait, spinners, and even flies. Families also get to test out their newly learned skills at a nearby fishing location under the watchful eye of an Angling University instructor. Classes star at Bass Pro Shops “Frying Pan Lodge” classroom from 10:00am-12:00pm and conclude at Barr Lake State Park from 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Class includes instruction on Using a Compass and GPS with a Topographic Map. This class focuses on the fundamentals of outdoor navigation with a compass, GPS receiver and a printed topographic map. Students will receive instruction on compass use, map reading, GPS setup, accuracy, coordinate systems, map datums, waypoints, and tracklogs. Receivers and compasses are available for loan if you don't already have one. Students should be prepared for a combination of classroom instruction and outdoor exercises at nearby locations at Bass Pro Shops Denver.
The emphasis is on using a compass and GPS with a published map for outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and 4-wheeling.
