About the Store

Bass Pro Shops/Worldwide Sportsman is located on Highway 98 in Destin, just one mile north of the world renowned emerald green waters and sugar-white sands of the Gulf of Mexico.  Halfway between Pensacola and Panama City, Destin is known as the, “Luckiest Fishing Village in the World”, and is home to one of the largest private and commercial fishing fleets in the nation.  Bass Pro Shops is a proud sponsor of the nationally famous annual Destin Fishing Rodeo, held each October.  It is no wonder that Destin ranks among the most visited places in Florida, second only to the Orlando theme park area.   

Besides fishing in Choctawhatchee Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, there are numerous lakes, rivers, and streams for the fresh water fishermen.  For hunters, Eglin Reservation and other State Forests and Wildlife Management Areas provide almost unlimited opportunities.  Bass Pro Shops provides one-stop shopping for all of your hunting and fishing needs with our extensive inventory of guns, ammunition, and salt and fresh water fishing gear.  Our Customer Service Department can supply your hunting and fishing licenses and wildlife permits.

For the camping enthusiast, the Destin area is blessed with numerous State Parks, State Forest Parks, and other campgrounds ranging from primitive camping to fully-equipped sites.  Bass Pro Shops has an entire department devoted to camping gear and everything you need to outfit an individual, a family, or a Troop of Boy Scouts.  We also carry a great selection of kayaks and canoes to add adventure to that next camping or fishing trip.

Our two story, 50,000 square foot store is a focal point in Destin for visitors and residents alike, and offers the best selection of hunting, fishing, camping, and marine gear in the panhandle.  For all your outdoor hunting or casual clothing and footwear needs or for that special gift, browse our well stocked departments.  In addition, Tracker Marine offers sales and certified service on Tracker, Mako, and Suntracker boats and is a full service Mercury dealership.  Tracker also sells and services Arctic Cat and Bad Boy 4-wheelers.

The Destin Bass Pro Shops/Worldwide Sportsman has a 10,000 gallon salt-water aquarium stocked with some of the largest local species you’ve ever seen, including our 85 pound Goliath grouper, our huge Redfish, three Jack Cravelle, Gag Grouper, and others.  Join us for the fish feeding on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 1:30 pm.  Almost every month we have adult and kids’ oriented events and workshops, including outdoor themed arts and crafts for the little ones.  Often we are putting on outdoor cooking demonstrations and offer free samples out by our gazebo.  From old-fashioned dutch oven cobblers and stews using charcoal to the latest in fish and turkey frying, grilling and smoking, our staff demonstrates the techniques and tools to make your next outdoor cooking adventure a success!  From photos with Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, to Summer Camp activities, Boat Shows, Red Zone Football, Halloween, and other events and workshops, Bass Pro Shops is the family-friendly place to shop!

All of our store’s walls are adorned with old photographs of hunting and fishing scenes from by-gone days.  Taxidermy and wildlife exhibits and antiques are found throughout the store, making your shopping not only enjoyable, but informative and educational.

Destin Bass Pro Shops is located in the Destin Commons, a unique open-air town center offering specialty shopping, restaurants, and a modern, all digital multiplex theater featuring stadium seating and I-Max movies.
