Built strong and sharp to provide instant penetration, these hooks are specifically designed for Zoom’s Horny Toad baits. These heavy-duty hooks feature an ultra-sharp point, a 60-degree bend, and a screw lock on the eye. The screw lock holds the bait's head in position on the hook, which extends life and catches for the horny toad lure.
Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Hook failure The idea of these hooks is great. The bait holder on them works great in keeping the bait from splitting. However after a fish or two, the baitholder simply breaks off along with the bait. The loop that holds them to the hook seems very poorly made and not strong enough to survive fish bites. Rated 4 out of 5 by Works well I have found that this product not only works well for keeping the product for which they were designed in the correct attitude while retrieving, but also works very well for flukes. July 18, 2011

A:
yes. they are good on any soft plastic. the keel on the weighted ones act as a lift when pulled thru the water, and the non weighted ones are just a wide gap hook with a spring on the end. i like them.

They work great on any plastic lure, just twist that wire into the nose.

I always "Texas Rig" it with the hook going between the legs and the hook tip pointing up. But I prefer a weighted belly hook so it stays upright all the time.

Twist the wire part into the nose, then put the hook through the back like a texas rig.

I hook through the belly and bring hook up through the back and skin hook the back. I believe this provides you a more weedless profile as well lets the bait swim in its natural form.

I believe the 5/0 hook will be best for you. I have used both sizes and feel I get better hook ups with the 5/0 hook

A:
I've used 4/0 with the 3.5 inch ribbits and they were perfectly sized -- 5/0 would have been too big. Since the Zoom Toads are slightly longer, you might be able to use a 5/0, but 4/0s should work.
