There are plastic baits, and then there are Zoom baits. The difference is undeniable. Want proof? Just take a peek into your favorite tournament angler's tackle box, and start counting the Zoom bags. For those who lay it on the line every time out, there can be no other choice. Every Zoom soft plastic bait is wholly realistic, super-soft to the touch (for the extra action needed to pull that reluctant money fish) and salt-impregnated to hold even the most tentative bite. 20 pack.
Zoom® Centipede - 4" 4.8 5 58 58
4" centipede by Zoom The pumpkin 4" centipede is my favorite for worm fishing. Caught 8 pounder early spring. Never without them in my tackle box. April 22, 2014
Great bait Great for wacky rigging on drop shot or shaky head. They catch fish when they will not bite anything else or during heavy pressure. Only draw back is they like to rip after a fish or two. But for a pack of 20 not to bad. Awesome bait though if you need to pick up a few extra fish or you just want to wack some little ones March 18, 2014
Centipede to the rescue I use Zoom baits more than any other bait. When bass are slow and finicky I switch to the Centipede. I was having a slow day in June on Lake Fork, Texas and switched to the centipede on a Carolina rig. On the third cast after switching I caught a nice 7 pound 6 ounce bass. I almost always have at least one rod ready with a centipede, baby brush hog, or fluke. December 10, 2013
My Go to For a TOUGH BITE This little lure is fantastic for post frontal, cold water, and dog days of summer type bites where the fish are sluggish. This will work at times when even a senko won't. I use them on a 1/8 ounce mojo rig sinker 20" above the hook and just drag them along the bottom nice and slow. Will put bass in the boat! September 24, 2013

We just used a standard 2/0 EWG worm hook for wacky rigging. Also, the centipede works really great with the o-wacky o-rings. The ridges work well with the ring to keep everything centered and in place.

I prefer a 2/0 X-point hook for Texas and Carolina rigging and a 1/0 or 2/0 circle hook for drop shot applications.

the Gamakatsu octopus hooks work well. they also make finesse and drop shot hooks that would work. they cost a bit more, but Gamakatsu hooks are my personal choice for any hook.

I use a Gamagatzu 3/0 EWG hook that is lazer hardened. I find that it will not fall off this hook, and is great for in-line texas rigging too, due to the hook's flat area.

I don't really use centipedes but I do use senko-style worms and I would highly recommend hooks like the gamakatsu finesse wide gap hooks for wacky rigging. The short shank but wide gap gives you a good hookset without changing the action of the lure. Just be ready to use pliers to get the hook out.
