Zodi Outback Gear Hot Tap Travel Shower™ - Model 6185
Perfect for my needs
The Zodi Outback Gear Hot Tap Travel Shower is a replacement for one I had for many years. I have been exceptionally pleased with previous one and am just as pleased with this model that is improved. Perfect for my remote cabin. NO more cold showers or visits to the lake for daily cleanup. Highly recommend this unit for anyone that is tired of cold showers.

Great little shower
Bought this for the hunting camp & glad I did. This little thing can really heat the water up. Nice for when you have those long days outside doing food plots or hanging stands or whatever you have going on & you want to get a decent shower in before heading inside. Takes a little longer to heat everything up on those really, really cold winter days. Great little product for any camp

Zodi Shower Model 6185
Quality of shower and case is much better than I expected for the price. When I read that you may have to recycle the water for 5 minutes I thought it would require it every time. This is not the case. If the water has been sitting in a can / tank or jug for several hrs the heater will provide HOT water instantly. No need to circulate the water unless it is cold water. Even if it is cold water it does not take long to warm the water enough to take a comfortable shower.

I don't know Zodi, but I can tell one thing. I bougt a Coleman and after only 7 or 8 showers the pump was out of order. I tried to replace it and they don't make it anymore. I hope this answer will help you in your choice. Joce
Buy the Zodi. I bought a Coleman first and after replacing the battery 3 times in 3 years I went and bought a Zodi. Apparently, battery problems are bad on the Coleman because most of the reviews say the same thing. I am very pleased with the Zodi though.
It's not safe to use outdoors much less indoors. Any device that burns a combustible material will produce carbon monoxide. This device is not vented to the outside so it will produce dangerous levels of carbon monoxide indoors.
I lost power for 8 days during hurricane Ike, thus no electric hot water heater. I and my family used the Zodi shower indoors without any problems. Of course proper steps have to be made for proper ventilation and fire hazard as with any gas appliance. I would not use it in a small bath or shower room without an open window or door.
The instructions say to use in a well ventilated area. I use mine inside a 24 foot trailer. It could be used in a smaller application, but the heater does get very hot and needs to be in a very secure place so it does not turn over. I would not recommend to use on a boat.
This shower is self contained and very portable. I think problems would arise if you tried to use it during high seas. Although a base is provided, the burner design is top heavy and could present a fire hazard, especially at sea! In my experience boat cabins are also confined which could present a ventilation problem. If your boat has a stove top installed I would suggest heating a container of water and simply dropping the pump into it. The shower will work without the burner being on.
