I have two of these reels now. Casting distance is something else. I fish salt water and have not had any problems with the first purchase. Bought a second to have another with me for different bait setup....

Nothing to do with Bass Pro I bought this reel the first day I bought it the little retrieve pins broke looked at it and it was the spring so I just removed the pin worked ok because there are two . The line started to tangle up inside the cover when I reeled it in. Today I went out the other pin broke so you can't reel it in plus the whole rewind thing popped out looked inside only to find out that it was only glued in with two little spots of glue. Not worth sending back and lost the receipt so will put in my box for spare part don't waste your money on this one spend a little more money and get a good one.a good day of fishing is better than sitting on the banks trying to fix this reel

We ALWAYS have good luck with Zebco Pro Staff Reels .We have used them for the 12 Years we have been together. They last Thousands of casts, And I usually replace the reel instead of replacing the line be cause they don't cost that much!!! Only thing is I cant find NEW Pro Staff 20-30 any more only 20-10 & 20-20 , Having to reline & reoil my 20-30's. Great little reel that last and is easy to use (My wife cannot use a baitcaster) Would recommend these reels with open heart

I just got this real, unpackaged, went fishing and every other time I throw out, it back lashes or line comes out when button is pressed, before I can cast. Not sure what it is called but happens every other time.

I have only used mono line on any spincast I have ever owned. I have heard of people using braid but I would stick to mono. The test would be relative to the size of the reel. You can usually go a size or two more than the mfg recommends and you will be fine.A:Â
I haven't changed out the OEM line yet, but when I do I'll probably use Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon line at 6 lbs test.1 of 1
