Zebco Prostaff Spincast Reels I have used this reel on a day to day basis fishing for crappie, largemouth bass and channel catfish. It has stood up to all conditions I could throw at it. It is a perfect reel for a young fisherman. Coming in three sizes it can fit any ones hands and the bigger the reel the bigger the line test. What a value. I've had my reels for five years and they just keep catching fish without any problems whatsoever. June 2, 2006
you have got to by this reel Igot this reel for my birthday. And it is great I caught a 4 pound trout on it and it reeled it in fine i use this reel for big mouth bass, trout , catfish, and many more, youcan get it into corners that no other reel can get to. hope you find this review helpfull July 5, 2007
reel needs help Nothing to do with Bass Pro I bought this reel the first day I bought it the little retrieve pins broke looked at it and it was the spring so I just removed the pin worked ok because there are two . The line started to tangle up inside the cover when I reeled it in. Today I went out the other pin broke so you can't reel it in plus the whole rewind thing popped out looked inside only to find out that it was only glued in with two little spots of glue. Not worth sending back and lost the receipt so will put in my box for spare part don't waste your money on this one spend a little more money and get a good one.a good day of fishing is better than sitting on the banks trying to fix this reel June 1, 2012
Best ever fresh water reel I have backlashing baitcasting reels that cost five and ten times more than my Prostaff 20/20 cost. This reel casts further and I've never had a backlash.....I can concentrate on fishing rather than fighting with the equipment. And the fish have no idea how much less expensive they are compared to the baitcasters. October 26, 2007

I have only used mono line on any spincast I have ever owned. I have heard of people using braid but I would stick to mono. The test would be relative to the size of the reel. You can usually go a size or two more than the mfg recommends and you will be fine.

I haven't changed out the OEM line yet, but when I do I'll probably use Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon line at 6 lbs test.

I would go with 8-10 lb Berkley Trilene XL. This line casts very well and is durable.
