I'd buy more! This pole works great for those who like catfish! Especially for those who need extra poles for inviting friends or family for group fishing. They are cheap enough to buy extras and durable and easy to use even for new fishers. I took my wife to a local pond for a day in the outdoors to relax and hopefully enjoy some good fishing. I have three of these pole and we set stink bait on all three and were able to hear the beeper when we had a bite so just sat and talked while we waited for the catfish to bit. That day we reeled I. Three big ones over 10 pounds including one that weighed over 15 pounds! The beeper also works great at night because it lights up red. I'm hard of hearing so that's a big plus! Haven't had problems with these poles yet and had fished with them for about a year and a half. Definitely worth the purchase. April 10, 2013
quality far exceed cost! First father son fishing trip to table rock, stopped in at springfield store.Main center display new product,29.99! Didnt need it but it was COOL and BIG! Didnt use, but played w it all week. I pull it out 6-7 times a year, treat it no diffrent than all my equipment.Works first time every time, less setting drag every cast. Original line, batteries etc. Not a daily driver, but starts rite up every time i pull it out of the garage!!! Not a young kids pole, but economical big kid pole. Anything can and will break, but you will still have quality parts remaining to begin creating a new personalized. HEAVY SPINNING COMBO September 4, 2012
Awsome Combo Just purchased it a few weeks ago and so far i am very happy with it. I am running it with the line that came with it and it casts very well. It has been too cold lately to really put the test to it but over all very happy with the combo. December 13, 2007
Hawg Seeker Rod and Reel This is a great cat rod. I use it with 25-30 lb. line and it casts great. October 16, 2009

A:
Yes you can. There is a toggle switch located on the top rear of the reel. When green is showing on the switch, you will hear the sound. When red is showing, the sound will be off.

I didn't find it to be too big and bulky but it is for big fish so yeah it's not your Zebco 33 or $10 ultra light rig.

Not if you can cast a spinning reel. If you are only used to spin cast reels it takes a little bit of getting used to but once you get used to a spinning reel it works. Mine broke the crank on the reel to this model traded up to a Bill Dance Catfish model
