quality far exceed cost! First father son fishing trip to table rock, stopped in at springfield store.Main center display new product,29.99! Didnt need it but it was COOL and BIG! Didnt use, but played w it all week. I pull it out 6-7 times a year, treat it no diffrent than all my equipment.Works first time every time, less setting drag every cast. Original line, batteries etc. Not a daily driver, but starts rite up every time i pull it out of the garage!!! Not a young kids pole, but economical big kid pole. Anything can and will break, but you will still have quality parts remaining to begin creating a new personalized. HEAVY SPINNING COMBO September 4, 2012
Great Rod Had this combo for a year before the reel went out. I fish a lot and put this combo to the test and for the price it can't be beat. I didn't care about the bait alarm. However, it's nice to have if you like the extra lights. When mine go wet it was done. The reel went out when I was reeling in a fish and the handle snapped off. I still use the rod till this day. I just put BPS Snaggin Special reel and it's another great combo. The biggest fish caught on this rod is a 45 pound catfish. December 4, 2011
Great fishing pole/reel This is a great fishing pole and reel combo. The price is good and it's a very solid pole. It also has a lot of great features like the BiteAlert lights/sound and the glowing tip for night fishing. It's a very solid pole that seems like it will stand the test of time and abuse, and it's a pretty neat looking set too (not that that's something really important, but it is a nice feature). The reel has a VERY smooth action and it casts wonderfully (obviously depends on the line you use as well; mine's got SpiderWire 50lbs. test line on it and casts super smoothly). And even though it's designed more for larger fish and catfish, it works well for just about anything, even the little Bluegill. Definitely a worthy choice for anyone looking for a new pole, and it's from Zebco, so you know it's solid. October 4, 2011
nice cat pole nice combo for cats. Maybe not for huge ones though. My nephew caught a 30 lb. 39 in. flathead. When he got it to the boat the handle snapped off. Where can we get a new one July 20, 2011

I didn't find it to be too big and bulky but it is for big fish so yeah it's not your Zebco 33 or $10 ultra light rig.

Not if you can cast a spinning reel. If you are only used to spin cast reels it takes a little bit of getting used to but once you get used to a spinning reel it works. Mine broke the crank on the reel to this model traded up to a Bill Dance Catfish model
