Waste of money Not sure what the problem was but this reel would barely reel in a 9" Crappie. Felt like the line was wrapped around the rod tip when reeling in, but it wasn't. Exchanged it for a Zebco Omega Z02 great reel. Bass Pro was great no hassle exchange. April 15, 2011
delta zebco reel I recently purchased 2 Delta Zebco reels. I also own an Omega Zebco. The Deltas are cheaper and just as good. I highly reccomend these reels!! The only feedback that I am needing is figuring out how to string the reel without line twisting. March 31, 2011
Great reel Great reel for the money. I have 4 of these reels now for crapping fishing the are great. I very much like to use a closed face reel, they are so much easer to use. January 4, 2011
good buy this is a very good product, it preforms well in all types of weather except winter conditions in northern minnesota but i dont think i will try that out either, loved the cajun line prespooled on there, very smooth but takes a bit of getting used to the slow butter smooth reeling and only one bad thing about it, once in a while the pickups will rub on the inside of the case not enough to do damage but enough to feel it and hear it on a calm day, but over all a very good buy July 28, 2010

For those baits described, you'll likely catch some bigger fish. I'd use no less than 10lb test. You will loose casting distance as you go heavier in diameter. Monofilament is best all around line for the baits you described, but I prefer Florocarbon for most all applications because of its lack of stretch and abrasion resistance, with the exception of top water fishing because Floro sinks. Not the best choice for top water baits unless they are using a constant retrieve. Thats why most fishermen (ladies) have more than one rod for multiple applications. 10lb test mono is probably your best all around choice.

I count 4 when I take it apart. I looked in their product catalog and it lists the bearings as 4+1. Not sure what they consider the 5th bearing.

A:
Most likely 2 because most of the zebco reels are 1,2,or3 bearings.

A:
Most line twist occurs when you reel in against the outgoing drag. Never reel when the fish is taking line on the drag.

A:
No back crank. This would tangle the line inside the spool housing. Go with the larger gear ratio as it retrieves more line per handle turn. for example 5:1 is faster than 4:3. The only time I would buy a reel with a 4:3 gear ratio is if all I fished was deep diving crank baits with big bills that have a lot of drag when you reel them in. In this case you would want the slower gears so that the bait doesnt roll over when you retrieve it.

Both Omegas and Deltas coming in 2 sizes, small (2) and medium (3). The small (2's) are for 6lb. line and have a 1:3.24 retreival ratio and the (3's) are for 10lb test and have a 1:2.9 ratio. All have anti-back crank. The Omega Pro only comes in the medium (3) size.
