Several times this this has created a "rats nest" for me and I've had to take time out from fishing to screw around with the reel instead. I thought maybe it was old line from sitting on the shelf so I put on new line but it still didn't help. Also I have large hands and this reel doesn't work well with large hands. (keeps hitting my fingers)

If you want a low cost spinnig reel this is it. The drag system is the weakest part of the reel and if you want to just catch small fish this reel will work fine. If you want to go for bigger fish like trout or white bass spend a few more dollars and get you a better reel. I would give this reel a 4.5 out of a 10. Good luck fishing

Do the Bill Dance Series of Crappie reels by Zebco still feature the depth locator? I do not see it mentioned in the specifications. I have three of the older model reels and I love them.Answers
