Rated 4 out of 5 by Good reel - need a HD model of this Please make this in a catfish heavy duty size - a 195 yard/20lb. line version with a roller barrel handle and a larger line aperture in the front cone. I have four of these panfish model reels. Such a good basic straightforward no-frills design. I have bought both the gold an silver models. Bluegill, crappie, perch, bass = there is something about an underspin that is so handy. The cost is lower than a spinning reel. It casts a country mile. I love the low gear ratio - that allows complete control over the speed of the lure and when you've go a fish on. And it can be switched to left-hand!! May 12, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by line tangles inside-drag impossible Drag is impossible. Line binds up between line spool and line retrieval mechansim. I have had this problem with most newer Zebco spincast reels. I am always digging line out and having to take apart while fishing to get line out, After a very short time you are out of line because of the cutting out you have to do. Going to try a 6lb test, but not holding my breath. Works fine as long as you don't get the inside tangles and if you can get the drag set where you want. I am going after 3-5lb bass and must rely on a good drag system. Would never buy another. Will never buy any Zebco or Zebco related products (ie. Quantum) April 29, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by binding up? I own 2 model 11T reels that are about 8 years old and they have been indestructable. they have 1 ball bearing. The new 3 ball bearing 11T gold is hard to wind even with no line on it! I hav'nt even used it fishing yet? like the gears don't mesh right? also the drag button only moves 3 clicks each way? It may just be a defective reel, but I think they failed with the improvements. sometimes the New and Improved can backfire big time... March 25, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Junk I wish I had read some reviews before buying one. Line somehow gets between the spool and winder. Poor design I guess. January 16, 2011
