Z-Man® The Original ChatterBait®
Offering the action of a crankbait, the profile of a jig and the flash of a spinnerbait, The Original ChatterBait will have a profound impact on the way you fish. Designed to swim in an erratic motion that mimics wounded prey, the Original ChatterBait features a unique hex-shaped ChatterBlade® that pivots violently back and forth on the jig eyelet, producing enough vibration to let you feel every pulse. The ChatterBlade also serves as weedguard to keep the hook from snagging on weeds or brush. The Original ChatterBait's EZ Skirt®, with super tough ElaZtech® Split-Tail TrailerZ™, creates an enticing, undulating action to provoke strikes. Perfect for muddy, stained water, the straight-tracking ChatterBait won't hydroplane on a fast retrieve and its depth is easily regulated.

Very good action. Better with braid then mono or fluorocarbon. the only problem i had was that the skirt would fall off every 5 or so casts

I bought a few of the 1/2 oz. not realizing exactly how big they were. I tried them anyway and was getting a ton of nibbles, but the hook was too big for anything where I was fishing for that week. I trie it out again in a buddie's pond and was pulling in all of the monsters all day long. It was a blast. I love it so much I am on here buying a few of the smaller ones too.

I have had good success using a slow stop/go retrieveA:Â
Just fish with a moderate reel. Or you can swim and then stop every once and a whileA:Â
i find just casting out and wind back slowA:Â
Just cast and retrieve. If the fish are kind of sluggish an occasional pause will help the curious followers and not takers. This bait is best in shallower water, but due to its erratic nature, will call fish up from some deeper water.A:Â
There is no wrong way to fish this awesome bait. You can jig it , burn it or a slow steady retrieve. I like to let it hit the bottom then rip it up about two feet.Top 250 Contributor

Any place you would throw a spinner bait. My best success has been along weedlinesDetails:Â
I fish several ponds with muddy to tea colored water.Answers

Fishing local ponds, white has been a good color for me. I throw the 3/8s first and if no luck move down to the smaller sizes. That almost always works.A:Â
i would go with the black and blueA:Â
I prefer white or blue/black....Blue/black for light days and white for overcast.A:Â
For the muddy water, I've had success with the black and blue. It works well in the tes color too, but I've had more success with white in the tea colored waters.Top 25 Contributor

I mostly use the chatterbaitA:Â
I have used both and prefer the Z-man. The Z-man seems to have a better action on a slower retrieve.A:Â
chatterbait is better but the booyah has a hook that bends so that the bass cant throw the hook but the chatterbait almost never loses a fish anyway. I would suggest chatterbait over booyayhTop 25 Contributor

You can work this bait better and can reach places you can't w/ the booyahA:Â
both work.. I think the ChatterBait is better because of these reasons:I have had more success w/ the ChatterBait. The vibration of the chatterbait just seems to be better at triggering strikes. It has a better wiggle. The chatterbait is also more catch/ snag -free because of the shape of the blade and the jig head. And I feel like I can control the chatterbait better as well.
