1. Cast the lure out to the desired spot and crank it in a couple of turns, this will allow the bait to reach it's maximum diving depth. 2. Pause for about three to five seconds then in a downward motion with the tip of your rod, "twitch" the bait, pause for three to five seconds, and reel in the slack. 3. Repeat this method while covering the desired fishing spots.
In general, the strike will occur during the "pause". The only thing you may need to adjust would be the timing of the twitch and pause. Sometimes fish are more lethargic and require a longer pause.
