I just tested it this weekend for three days in August in West Virginia. I put 50 lbs of store bought ice in, (no blocks yet) and today, the fourth day back at home, it still has three inches of ice across the bottom. Homemade blocks will do even better. (Cut some plastic milk containers in half and freeze to get nice size blocks of ice) I have used block ice before at a racetrack and they do last longer. But I need a few lbs. for the Adult Beverages.
Took a gallon of milk camping - half in the ice half exposed. Ice cold everyday. I put a couple of sodas in the rack. They ended up being as cold as if they had been IN the ice. Nice test. Finally, a place for lunch meat or steaks without being IN the ice. I think the seal is key. I might buy a second rack.
Tip: Don't fill ya cooler with drinks. Put in enough to use and cycle more in. More space for ice, longer use.
I bought this size using the inside dimensions and it worked for "my use" perfectly. I put it in the van, and then I don't move it after its filled - because its heavy as heck empty. If you plan on moving your cooler around a lot, think about getting two smaller ones.
After so many cheap coolers not lasting, I'm very happy with my Monster Cooler. Oh yeah, it is called a YETI. :-)
The shell is like a rock. The drain is the best - big size, big threads, heavy duty gasket, hollow with a side hole so you just unscrew it a turn and water drains form the hole. I need to drain the cooler and stand it up on end and unscrew the drain plug to look at exactly how many turns it takes to where the hole it straight down and just fully exposed.
I was talking to a buddy of mine down in Georgia about this cooler. He said for that price it should MAKE ice. :-) I said yeah, but you get what you pay for. No more cheap coolers. (my last one leaked inside the van) This cooler may outlast me. Nice engineering guys !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Craigj899 Great cooler, Great service
My wife got me a yeti for my birthday, unfortunately the first time I used it I found it leaked from the drain plug. I contacted Yeti about the issue and Montana was very helpfull. After a couple of pictures Yeti warrantied the cooler, they let me keep the cooler until the new one arrived. The process was very easy, and the service made up for the issue with the cooler. Great cooler, great service, great company!

Bought the 75 as an anniversary gift for hubby. He's over the moon with this cooler. He works construction, so this cooler is getting a work out with his crew. And! best of all it looks good in the bed of his beloved Duramax. Didn't mind spending the money for a cooler that actually does the job as advertised. Only hope is that his facial expression is as happy when he see's what he bought me for our anniversary! Will purchase another in near future. Finally a quality product!

Love the 45 for day trips in the driftboat , the 75 for overnighters or family outings , use both for extended trips or week long vacations, using the 45 for drinks combined with the 75 for food or the catch of the day , great coolers!!
