Like all Tundras, the 105 Quart is one of the best insulated coolers on the market. With 2'' of polyurethane foam insulation in the walls and lid, and a freezer quality sealing gasket to lock in the cold for long-term ice retention, insulation is not a worry. Impressive durability is delivered by Yeti's one piece, roto-molded construction and design. This top quality cooler also offers food grade material construction, dry ice compatibility, non-slip rubber feet, recessed leak-proof drain plug, dry goods rack, and a lockable lid design. Heavy-duty T-latches with molded-in keepers fasten the lid securely closed. Molded-in, full-length, self-stopping hinges mean you never have to replace a hinge again. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great durable cooler I have had my cooler since May 2012, and thought I would wait to review it to see how it did during late spring, summer, and fall temps in South Georgia (traveled as well to Florida, Arkansas, S Carolina, etc) This Yeti 105qt cooler is a well built cooler. The cubed shape is the best for me, fits in most places, just the right height (sits below my rail on my truck so it is not obvious, yet tall enough for a standing platform sight fishing), enough space to fit most all I will need (I actually upgraded from the yeti 45qt due to this, a milk jug would not stand upright in it). The cooler has insulation that if properly done will keep drinks cold for 4 to 5 days easy in S GA. I purchased this cooler cause I needed drinks and other items to stay cold without having to refill ice every day like my old $40 cooler + that old cooler was falling apart after 2 years of riding in the back truck. Pros: -You can stand or sit on it, big enough for two people! I put in my boat as an extra seat. My other cooler's lid was not really designed for this.... -durable and heavy duty, well built and holds up well, it stays in the back of my 2011 chevy truck 24 hours a day, every day. Cleans up easy, except I have noticed the top of the lid is harder to clean. -Seals well, air is not helping warm up cooler inside. -Cold retention: you need to pre-cool or follow the 3 step method (block ice, cubed ice, water) if you use it most every day like I do. Here is how I manage my cooler: I use mine most every day during the week. For (1)block ice, I typically keep 2x 1gal frozen water containers + 1x 2qt frozen water container (cleaned out orange juice thick plastic containers), some (2)cubed ice (I fill up as needed), and lastly (3) keep some water in the bottom as it helps fill the void and stays cold. Just follow yeti's instructions and you are good to go. -Heavy, stays in place, not easily movable when it is in place and you don't want it to move or someone looking to steal it! -Lockable, I use the yeti cooler cable lock cause I don't want some random person just walking off + you can lock the lid if you have some expensive craft beer in there - haha! Cons: - Price. But the way I look at it is this cooler is a tool. It serves the purpose of having cold items, properly done it will keep items cold for a few days, its durable so you can sit and stand on it (serving more than one purpose) - Small one, but sometimes the lid gets compression sealed, and you have to work to get the lid open. Simple fix, just pay attention how you close the lid and don't slam it. On the flip side you see I posted the seal as a positive! Overall I would buy another Yeti again, as a matter of fact I am looking into my next one being the 50qt. I am not sure how long they will last being exposed to the weather 24/7, but time will tell. I feel strongly that it will easily last longer than 2 years. Bottom line is if you are looking for a durable cooler, looking to hold items cold for several days (I am sure other coolers can do this but will they last??), a tool that you know will stand up in the field, then a Yeti is a good investment for you. Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Cooler Made! I have had this cooler for almost a year now. Took it on a Turkey hunt this last spring when the weather was very hot. Put ice in the cooler and it was in the hot sun for four days before a bird was put in it. The ice in four days had melted down about two inches. Other coolers I have had would maybe keep ice for two days before you just had water left. This is beyond a doubt the finest cooler made and will be the last cooler you need unless you buy a different size. This cooler will hold two big toms easy even when loaded with ice.
