Rated 5 out of 5 Skeet Reese Crankbait rod
Bought rod and reel and it is the perfect combination for crankbaits I have ever owned.

It is a bit fat at the blank but light. Glass rods are the best for cranks. You have to fish this rod to understand the sensitivity. I have higher end graphite crank rods and for the price they do not compare. Buy it, you will like it.

the s glass is awesome, great feel and forgiving enough so the fish hook themselves, no more ripping the lure from the fishes mouth, not sure about durability yet, only used a few time but should last, will buy more if rods holds up for at least one fishing season

I was very surprised on how light this rod is in my hand. Should be real sensitive to use. I hope it has the backbone as promised.

if i wanted to by just one of these poles, for all around usage, what size should i get 7, or 6'6?
Answers
A:Â
These are only good for crankbaits. All around fishing you need a graphite rod.A:Â
6'6", is a good all around crankbait rod, the 7 is good to but may be too long for some but its good for longer casting, all in all you cant go wrong with a 6 6 especially casting to tighter coverA:Â
6,6A:Â
I wouldent get skeet reese rods but if i had to pick it would be the 7 footDetails:Â

W&M skeet glass rod..I have all three versions and they work greatA:Â
i felt and held the 7-10 rod and thought it was not necessary to have the 7-10 it was too long for my taste and if your worried about not being able to cast far with the 7' i cast a mile with mine hope this helpsTop 10 Contributor

I wrote a good 5 star review on the Skeet Reese rods but since then both of them have broken . I also have BPS Crankin Stiks and they are good rods for the money but the 7'10" model has way to fast a tip for anything but lipless cranks . I also found it to be a good spinnerbait rod . I would like to suggest a few rods to you. the BPS carbonlite 7' mod is a great crankin rod and the Boyd Duckett crankin rods have been very good to me . Also my brother uses Shimano Cumara reaction rods and I've had a blast using them as well . I have to say I feel that my Duckett rods are right there with them in perfomance. Hope that helps you out in some way .Details:Â
Has anybody bought & used it yet? My Bass Pro in Spanish Fort dont have it. I have the 7ft & 7ft 10in & love em. Wanting to order the 6,6, but wondering if its as good as my other 2 rods.Normally,I like 2 handle em 2 feel the weight, see how much tip it has,etc.. Any info would help. I own the crankbait and senko versions of these and they are very good rods for the money. I have not had any regrets about buying them and the only reason I will not be buying more is because I plan to start using the new Abu Garcia rods made for Mike Iaconelli. safe purchase, try one.Details:Â
i am going to be using 17-20ft deep cranksAnswers
A:Â
I have both and 7'10 without a doubt.A:Â
7 foot 10 for those bigger cranks. It will help you cast em way out there and that's really important with deep diversA:Â
i use the 7' 10'' for manns 20+ and other 17-20 ft deep crankbaits i would get the 7'10'' im very happy with mine paired with a abu garcia revo winch reelTop 10 Contributor
A:Â
that completely depends on how you plan to use the rod.the7' 0" will be the best when you need to be accurate like casting around the shoreline and docks.the7'10" will be best when used for long casting such as is required for deep cranking.I personally will use my 7'10" rods much more than my 7'0" in rods, but I fish alot on lake spavinaw.a very clear water lake in Oklahoma.A:Â
definitely 7ftAnswers

i got the 7 10 very happyTop 10 Contributor
A:Â
the 7ft.10" is by far the best of the two for deep cranking. you'll be able to cast a mile with the longer pole.distance= more time that your lure will spend at it's deepest point .which is the whole point of throwing a deep crank anyway.Answers

Please answer with info. about cast distance, sensitivity, and back bone (If possible). I'm debating whether to buy it or not, thanks.Answers
A:Â
i got the 7 10 for 20ft + paired with a abu garcia revo winch. it casts a mile the longest casts i have ever made. i can feel weeds, stumps and fish with ease. it has some flex to it at the tip like and glass crankbait rod and that helps you. ive made a super long cast and after a couple feet get a hit and still had enough backbone for a solid hook up. im very happy with this rod the deeper the crankbait the longer the rod.A:Â
Cast distance is excellent for a glass rod, especially if you are using 3/4oz+ cranks. Rod has good backbone and sensitivity. With this rod you don't even have to set the hook, it's design too absorb the hit and it wont let you take the bait out of the fish mouth. Performs equally as good, deep and shallow.Top 10 Contributor
A:Â
both of these rods perform well in all areas for there price per my experience with them.but for sure I prefer my Jonnie Morris Elite rod 7'0" med.fast and my 7'10" med.fast carrotstick gold as my to favorite cranking rods.Top 1000 Contributor
A:Â
IT WORKS GOOD FOR ANY SIZE CRANK I HAVE TREOWN ALL OF THEM FROM A MANNS MINUS TO A LUREJENSONS HOT LIPS THAT DIVES TO 20 FTA:Â
Ye sactually the 7 foot crankbait does perform well for all crankingA:Â
Great distance and sensitivity with enough backbone to go through some slop...I use 20# flurocarbon line...I have more expensive rods at home that I like a lot..Avid/Legend Extreme...But this one for cranking just outperforms them as far as hook ups go...Answers
