For the pice, this rod is hard to beat. It's light weight, and well balanced. Has good backbone with a fast tip. The micro guides are a bonus.

Very nice rod for the money, nice & lite when coupled with a light reel. Handles light plastics well. Decent backbone. This, unfortunately, is tempered by Wright &McGill's lack of customer support. Supplied with each rod was a "coupon" asking the customer to answer a survey on the TRoKar hook website and they would be sent a free pkg of Trokar hooks to the respondent. Answered it in Feb 2012, still no hooks in late May.
Other fishermen in the area have experienced the same. No response to e-mail sent to W&M.

If I were looking for a promotional quality rod I would probably go with a Berkley Lightning Rod for less money.
This rod is a bit on the heavy side. Plus you are looking at Eagle Claw type quality.

I have a gift card and am thinking of buying a Curado with a 7'0 rod. I fish a lot of soft baits, with a crankbait every now n then. Currently work with a Flueger President on a 6'6 M F graphite series Basspro rod.Looking to get a baitcasting reel and was wondering if you guys think this is a good setup?

If it is made in a country other than the USA, the law requires it to be marked even if it is just a sticker so if the paperwork doesn't say mdae in some other country and the rod doesn't then I would say made in USAA:Â
Very tough to say. I have 2 of them sitting right here and there is nothing on them that says "Made In...." The company is HQ in Colorado, but if I had to guess that since there is zero mention on the rod or booklet about being made in the USA that they are not. They'd be crazy to not market that if they were. In my opinion anyway.1 of 1
