Great buy I fish the northern Potomac and prefer to anchor myself rather than run a trolling motor in order to fight the current when I want to sit still in a spot that I want to work. This winch is great. I really like how the anchor can pull through and be kept still. I had to buy and install a small pulley which the directions suggest but that was fun. Only 4/5 stars.... 5 stars if they included a few different pulleys to help adapt to your boats setup... I would think they would for the price they charge... June 20, 2013
worth its weight in gold I have had an anchormate to on my old boat for 15 years sold the boat to a friend and this product still works like the day it was installed. Easy to use and intall saves so much space on the boat. Just bought the new tracker and i will install this unit on it. Super big advantage comes on lakes and ponds with no gas motor rules. Unit requires just a little old fashion hand cranking. Best all around anchore retrieval and storage unit on the market Big kev January 9, 2011
Great for saving space!!!! This Anchormate is great for keeping your anchor & rope orginized and out of the way which is always a good thing on a boat where space is in short supply. The winch has no trouble riping the anchor off the sea floor. It's downsides; The freespool on the winch dosen't operate freely enough that an anchor under 6 pounds will sink after it has dropped below waterline. The clutch control knob is small and difficult to operate by hand. January 14, 2009
Great anchor windup system This product is a great solution. Uses good old fashioned elbow grease to eliminate 12V wires and battery draw. Rope storage is a little less than stated but 120' of rode is more than enough for my needs, which this spindle holds easily. Solves rode storage and anchor release and wind up all in one compact device. Highly recommend. September 3, 2012

All hardware comes with the product. I needed nothing additional for the "normal" installation. I customized my installation which made the product much more efficient, flexible, and used friendly.
