I'm 5'3" and I have had a hard time finding convertable pants where the shorts portion didn't go passed my knees. Jackpot!! These are great for shorter hikers. The pants are lightweight, very comfortable and the shorts portion is actually above the knees. Even the length of the pants is great for my height (a little longer, but I don't step on them when I walk).

Wish these pants fit as well as an earlier version in the same size purchased a few years ago. The lower waist doesn't fit as well and required two tucks to make it smaller. The length was one inch longer than the earlier version, so they required hemming. Once the alterations were completed, they were ready to wear. I like the roll up capri feature, but they would stay rolled up better if they could be fastened on both sides rather than just one side.
This sounds like a lot of negatives, but I would buy them again as they are very comfortable and really do travel well. I have no complaints about the fabric and the quality of the construction.
Now all you have to do is make them in more colors!

These pants are exactly what I was looking for. As an avid birder, I need lightweight, light-colored pants that will go inside my boots and be comfortable walking long distances over varied terrain. As a shorty, these pants would be too long without the "capri" option which makes them come to just the right place to tuck in. Two pair of these and I'm set for a week-end away. I can zip off the legs to convert to shorts when I'm not in an area with ticks.

I've had these for about a month now - love them. I live in Arizona and these are great for keeping the sun off my legs without being hot. Love the fact that I can zip the legs off and on at whim. Unfortunately, it's been really dry here and are humidity is about 4% right now, so I can't comment on their quick-drying ability. :-)

If memory serves me correct it is UPF 40. I threw the tags away, but I require good sun protection for medical reasons. I prefer UPF 50 & typically buy Coolibar brand clothes just for that, but they don't carry 2X in pants so I bought these instead. I have no issues with these & sun.A:Â
Don't know for sure, but the upf worked while I was fishing in an Amazon tributary.A:Â

I don't know, but the 2X is a 20-22 roughly so you might be able to use that & make an educated guess. Sorry I can't help you more.A:Â
