These high-performance large arbor saltwater reels set a new standard for quality, workmanship, and exceptional value. Precision machined-aluminum construction and a carbon fiber disc drag provide reliable, all-weather service. Every detail, from the extra finishing and protective anodizing, to the shape of the handle and drag knob, has been given careful thought toward function. Zero-reverse bearing for smooth, instantaneous drag engagement. Color: Gunsmoke.  Neoprene pouch included.

World Wide Sportsman Gold Cup spare spool sold separately and can be found through item search for sku number 898728.
Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by One Tough Reel I've used both the Gold Cup III and IV reels for two years of wrestling False Albacore, Stripers and Blues in the Atlantic. The drag is smooth and powerful and seems to have little startup torque. With a little rinsing each day, the reels look and perform like new. I'll be using both for Golden Dorado this January because I have confidence in them. This has to be one of the best reel values on the market today. December 2, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by One best reel for the money. Want a very durable and solid reel then this is it. The handle is the best I have used on a fly reel. The only drawback is lack of simplistic spool changing but the trade off is well worth it. October 10, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by High Quality Durable Saltwater Reel Smooth Drag, quality machining and extremely durable. Recomended to me by a Fl Keyes guide as the best value reel for the money. Use as my travel reel to Bahamas and FL Keys. May 16, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works very well I bought this reel for my son for bonefishing. He loves it. Drag seems to work very well. Too soon to say if it will last forever, otherwise 5 stars. You have to remove a screw to get the spool off, but this is exactly how you remove the spool from some $700 Tibor reels, no big deal. March 26, 2009

Hello! I just received the Gold Cup III as a Christmas gift and I need to purchase everything to make it a complete set. I'll be mainly using it for trout/salmon as well as the occasional pike/carp fishing in Colorado/Montana. Any recommendations for what I should buy would be great. Thanks!

I have a spare spool for this reel that I'd like to use, but I can figure out how to remove the spindle from the spool in use and transfer it to the new spool. I am only able to remove the spool and put it back on, but I can put the new spool on without the spindle. Please help!

Unscrew the cap on the spool, and you'll be able to remove it. This also makes re-assembly easier.

Is this reel Anti-Reverse?

Details:
I would be using the Gold Cup IV for catching migratory tarpon in Florida. Does the reel have an Anti-Reverse setting so those Silvery giants do not wear out the product very quickly?

No anti-reverse on this. Lots of tarpon have tried to hurt this reel, with no success.

Details:
I would like to get this reel, back and a tarpon fly line. If I buy all 3, can you put them on the reel before shipping?

A:
No, we would not be able to add line and backing before we shipped the reel - sorry. However, if you purchase online and take the reel, backing and line to a Bass Pro Shops we would certainly spool the reel. If you don't live near a Bass Pro Shops store, try your local fly shop where they will more than likely help you out.
