These shorts are perfect for fishing in hot climates; they are made of lightweight Nylon material and have plenty of pockets. Since I live in Texas, I have learned that Nylon shorts are much more comfortable to wear while fishing in the heat. I purchased one pair of these shorts to ensure they would be what I was looking for. I am pleased with them, and have bought a second pair.
The only drawback I have found is that I have to put my pocket knife in one of the smaller Velcro pockets because the Nylon material is so slick the knife tends to slide out of the main pockets when I sit down....

I bought these because they stopped making the previous World Wide Sportsman Shorts, which were great. I don't mind the longer inseam, but the other changes were terrible. FOR EXAMPLE: The Velcro pocket closures were TOO SECURE, I had to put heat to the Velcro to lessen the grip. The flaps on the rear pockets make it extremely hard to put your wallet in the pocket. The pleats on the front pockets hang up on everything(moving around too close to furniture or shop equipment) snags on the pleats. The worst for las: the idiotic grommets on the pockets, every time I try to remove change from my pocket, I almost rip my fingernails out by snagging on the grommets. Bring back the old version.

These shorts are very comfortable and perfect for fishing or any outdoor activity. I like the several pockets and the fact that nothing will fall out once you close them.light weight and quick to dry. I bought one pair, wore them once and ordered three more.

Yup, there's velcro on all the pockets. But, I don't find it to be a problem on these shorts for some reason. The velcro keeps the pockets securely closed and the little tabs on the pockets make opening the pockets real easy.Answers
