Rated 5 out of 5Â by Djpk Great for Trout Fishing
Have been using the 1/16 ounce roostertails for rainbow trout here in the Texas Hill Country for several years now and have had great success with them. These little lures also work great for white bass, crappie, perch and even catch largemouth bass on occasion. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by FishCentralOhio Bring back Gray Minnow!
These are great lures, my only problem is that around 5 or 6 years ago they stopped making the color that really caught fish around central Ohio. It was called Gray Minnow.
The Minnow color now is literally identical to White, and does not catch fish the way Gray Minnow does. I found this out when I ordered 6 rooster tails in this new color thinking it was the same thing. It's not.
The only good thing is that I can go buy a can of gray spray paint and re-color them, but honestly I have no idea why they would change the color on this. Now they have two identical lures and anyone who wanted the old color can't find it.
Overall these lures are fantastic when you get the color that works in your area, but they need to bring back Gray Minnow for us central Ohio guys.

THE ITEM WORKS WELL BUT IT WOULD BE NICE TO BE ABLE TO ORDER THE ROOSTER TAIL IN SINGLE HOCK. I KNOW THIS IS NOT BASS PROS PROBLEM

I mainly fish for bass when I freshwater fish. I have these and they work great but somedays the colors don't work. What color should I get for trout and bass?Answers
A:Â
Bass love pink in the rooster tail about 1/8 ounce completely pink with pink blade or the pink with silver blade. For trout go with white coach dog or yellow coach dog they are unbeatableA:Â
Black, in 1/16th oz or 1/32 oz.A:Â
Usually a minnow-type color(like a shad for instance) or something very bright or chartreuse, but on rainy days when the sun isn't always visible, you should use a very shiny or flashy color to attract the fish when thy can't see dull or dark colors.Top 1000 Contributor

well best advice i can give u for bass is check the water visisbilty first, then the sky. if its a clear day and the waters clear day use something silver and blackish brown. if its cloudy and clear, or the waters tainted/ dirty, use the gold and chartreuse or gold and white. for bass also i use anywhere from 1/6 ounce to 1/4. my best color would be the chartreuse 1/4 ounce mylar. good luckDetails:Â
I have many rosster tails for trout and largemouth bass. I catch alot of bass with these but not trout. What speed should a reel the lure at?Answers
A:Â
Faster than with most other lures. It seems the speed either fools the trout or just aggravates them into biting.A:Â
Slow to medium. Are you fishing in lakes or rivers? I always had trouble keeping the blades spinning even in current. Try using any with gold blades or go buy panther martin fly spinner no.2 gold/orange.Answers
