I bought this gift for my friends Birthday and it was so fun and the pearl was large and a beautiful gold color. The Silver pendant was solid and heavy and well worth the money. I recommend this highly

I purchased three different necklaces as gifts for my daughters. They came nicely packaged with the story of the origins of the pearls and the meanings of the different colors. The girls seemed delighted not just with the idea of opening thir own pearl but with the thoughts expressed through the diefferent styles of the necklaces.

I would guess forever since it is packaged in Alcohol and the pearl has been long ago formed. As long as the shell is intact there should be no problem if the shell is cracked then I would think the pearl would be eaten away by the alcohol
