Quality ammunition for your large-caliber handgun! The Winchester Platinum Tip Hollow Point comes with a plated, heavy jacket wall with the patented notched reverse taper. This creates a ''wedge'' effect to lock the core. Two-part hollow-point cavity for uniform bullet expansion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HOT ammo I handload ammo for my 454 casull. I bough a box of these 250 gr bullets for my scoped Ruger 7.5 inch super redhawk. the blast and recoil is severe. Alot worse than my full pressure handlaods. I accuracy tested this ammo and a six shot group all inside a six inch target area @ 50yds from a rest. Not the most accurate out of my pistol but would feel confident using this ammo on some smaller dangerous game. only becuase its a hollow point and a 250 gr. bullet. June 27, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by power enough for me I took one shot at a running Buck, and this bullet stopped him right in his tracks! 195 lbs. field dressed. Part was a lucky shot, but I'm hunting with this from now on. December 15, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Stopping Power This ammo will crush through heavy bone and still cause extreme tissue damage. It has heavy recoil but still groups well. I don't hunt with it much, I use it in my back-up revolver for that shot you have to make, like when a wild boar charges out of the brush. In 44 magnum it will stop anything in North America and in some of the larger calibers like 454 Casull or 500 S&W it will stop anything on the planet. It doesn't fit all applications but its good to know its there if you need it. June 12, 2008
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very powerful ammo Very powerful ammo that shoots true. The price is less that suggested retail. November 12, 2007

A:
I have used Hornady in .44 mag., .45 ACP, .40 S&W, .357 mag., 10 mm, and .45 Long Colt - IT"S ALL GOOD! But for handgun hunting or a backup in bear country when fishing I use a .44 mag.
