Winchester Super-X Rifled Slugs Shotshells
I have used plenty of Winchester ammunition and was recently very disappointed in the performance of their 20g slugs.
Out of the 100 or so rounds I shot 1-2 out of every box didn't fire!! That's a failure rate of 20% on 20 boxes of ammunition.
I tried seperate 20g guns and still had the problem. Not sure what happened but this batch was definently a bad batch. Will be going back to remington even if it costs a little more. I can't afford to have this kind of failure!!

Good plinking ammo
I use the 2 3/4 in rifles slugs that have a velocity of 1600 fps and the range is not the best but the damage is good. I put a target a 50 yards and out of a box of 15 slugs they were all over the place. I shot the shells in the winter time so I can did up the slug and realized why they were not accurate. Winchester uses a cardboard wodding in their slugs when most other companies use plastic woddings. The slug on one side had lead and cardboard on the other. What I mean is that when the slug was turning in the barrel the wodding was rubbing on one side of the barrel and the lead was rubbing on the other side of the barrel. They are cheap slugs and are good for plinking, but I would not recommend them for hunting. The results of these slugs may be different in a slug gun ( Rifled Barrel ) instead of a smoothbore barrel. I get the best accuracy at 25 yards with them.

Best rifled Slugs for most SB barrels
I've shot tons of different rifled slugs out of my scoped browning A-5. I have a smooth bore improved cylinder barrel.I get 1.5 inch groups at 50yards with holes touching. What more do you need for thick woods hunting?Anything within a 100yard is going down.Massive knockdown power and slug expansion. In 12ga there in no need for 3inch mags.Always pass through shots.I've killed at least 20+ deer with this slugs.Last years four pointer was a 20yard shot double lung and dropped right under my stand.Tons of blood and lung tissue on the ground.I won't use any other slug.
