I've shot tons of different rifled slugs out of my scoped browning A-5. I have a smooth bore improved cylinder barrel.I get 1.5 inch groups at 50yards with holes touching. What more do you need for thick woods hunting?Anything within a 100yard is going down.Massive knockdown power and slug expansion. In 12ga there in no need for 3inch mags.Always pass through shots.I've killed at least 20+ deer with this slugs.Last years four pointer was a 20yard shot double lung and dropped right under my stand.Tons of blood and lung tissue on the ground.I won't use any other slug.

Never shot slugs before bought these to help with a local hog problem.Put the slugs with a Carson rifle choke tube.Put 4 slugs on top of each other at 50yds. 3 hogs 18yds , 30yds , 65yds dead in there tracks.

out of my papaw's old Winchester '97 with peep sights these are very accurate, if you think you need a rifled barrel and a scope for a good slug gun-well sorry, your wrong. remember we shouldn't be bragging about how far away we can hit a deer from, we should be bragging about how close we got to that deer before we took the shot.

I wouldn't recommend firing slugs out of a full choke barrel. You could possible crack the barrel at the choke or create a dangerous pressure buildup in the barrel. Look for a cylinder or improved choke and you should be good or better yet a rifled barrel.Q:

I have a benelli super nova 12 ga. shotgun with a smooth barrel, will these slugs work with a rifled choke tube?Answers
A:
I would not use any rifled shell with that barrel or choke. Use a regular slug. If you do use a full or Modified choke. You will not be very accurate over 50-75 yards. Your basic slug will reach 100-120 yards better.A:
it will not shoot as accuretly as it would through a fully rifled barrel. these slugs are designed for long range accuracy and you may not get the results you are looking for at longer distances.A:
Yes , but you might want to try (rackmaster slugs by winchester) they are made for all barrels. The slugs you have choosen are foster style slugs made mostly for smooth bore barrel's .YOU need sabot style slugs.A:
These slugs are designed for a smooth bore only, the rifles choke does not work well with this type of slug. the rifling molded into the slug is usually the opposite spin from rifled choke tubes.1 of 1
