Rated 5 out of 5 by Best 22 on the market This is great ammo. I use them in two CZ 452s. Reliable and accurate in both. The generous hollow-point is deadly on ground squirrels. They are scary quiet in the 28-inch barrel on my CZ UltraLUX. April 23, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by great accuracy tried several remington and federal ammo in my browning T bolt and was not pleased with either. Decided to give winchester subsonic ammo a try before selling the gun and was pleasently surprized to find the accuarcy I was looking for. 5 shots covered with a dime at 35 yards. So glad i tried the subsonic winchesters. Saved me from getting ride of a rifle that is a pleasure to shoot. April 21, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by An excellent SS round Very accurate, and reliably cycles the semi-auto action in my Marlin Mod 60. Shoots to same point of aim as Mini Mags at backyard ranges, so I don't have to change the sights when I switch between SS & HV rounds. It's good quality ammo, accurate, has a nice bullet (HUGE hollowpoint!), and the price is right. The only thing I don't like about them is they're louder than expected. Muzzle blast is just as loud as any other full-power .22 LR, but without the sonic crack. So while it is quieter than HV ammo, it's still too much noise to be considered "yard ammo" if you have neighbors close by. (This is where .22 CB Longs can't be beat. Sound identical to a Daisy 880 .177 air rifle with 10 pumps on it.) If noise isn't an issue, then this is an accurate round with a deadly bullet. But in situations where reduced noise is important, you'll be better served with CB's. January 27, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love It! Went to the range, and it grouped well... It sounds like a higher powered pellet gun... There is absolutely no recoil... and at 50 yards it groups about a dime December 16, 2009

If the Rifle works using standard velocity ammo, I would recommend this without hesitation.

your gun is rated for 22lr, and bolt actions are typically strong actions. As long as your gun is in good condition, you should have no issues with subs or any other 22lr round, especially since 22lr is a low pressure cartridge.

They should work just fine in any manually operated firearm chambered for LR such as your Model 80. They are very accurate in my Marlin bolt action. Definitely give them a try. I think you'll be impressed. As a side note, the subsonic round doesn't seem to have enough recoil to operate my Marlin autoloader consistently.
