Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid ammo I shot these with my MK II this weekend with some beginner shooters. It's quiet, accurate and easy to shoot. I had zero misfires. I gave it a 4 only because the subsonic round was not enough in a couple cases to cycle the action properly on the MK II. Besides that, I'll get this again. May 4, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great 22 ammo I have bee using Winchester Subsonic 22 ammo for NRA Cowboy Lever Action Silhouettes for 3 years in my Marlin39A.I've shot thousands of rounds from My 39A and other 22's.I shoot at least 1 match a week, sometimes 3,and practice too.I've shot my way to AAA class with it and have shot Master scores but not yet enough to move up in classification.I just started using the same ammo in my scoped Ruger MK 2 10 inch barreled 22 pistol.Yesterday just to see what it would do I shot the pistol at a full size ram at 200 yards from the bench. It was fairly calm winds,8-10 mph from about 20 degrees to the right. It put 4 shots into a group thats 3 1/4"x4 3/4"with the 5th round about 7 inches lower. At 200 yards! My 50 year old Winchester model 77 22 rifle that I got when I was 11 likes this ammo too.I be trying it at 200 yards to see how it does after it passed 50,000 rounds down the tube. Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Quiet I have shot 2 boxes of these rounds through my P-22 with a Sparrow supressor and they are very quiet. No miss fires and are very accurite. Very happy and will order more. February 18, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by OK for most rifles I found these ok for my CZ 452 and Browning BL22 lever action rifle but had a very poor performance in semi-automatic pistols and mainly my Buckmark Elite. It may also be the gun because it didn't seem to have enough powder charge to kick back the receiver and I would get quite a few jams. So.....I stopped using Winchester and also sold the Buckmark piston (1 year old) as it had problems also with other ammo brands. Absolutely NO problems with the CZ 452 which will shoot anything I put in it. January 31, 2011

I have had great luck with Winchester Subsonics using my Savage Mark II bolt-action.

If the Rifle works using standard velocity ammo, I would recommend this without hesitation.

A:
your gun is rated for 22lr, and bolt actions are typically strong actions. As long as your gun is in good condition, you should have no issues with subs or any other 22lr round, especially since 22lr is a low pressure cartridge.

They should work just fine in any manually operated firearm chambered for LR such as your Model 80. They are very accurate in my Marlin bolt action. Definitely give them a try. I think you'll be impressed. As a side note, the subsonic round doesn't seem to have enough recoil to operate my Marlin autoloader consistently.
